  • OpenAI’s ChatGPT now supports more than 14 third-party app integrations spanning food delivery, travel booking, creative tools, and entertainment.
  • DoorDash’s integration, launched in December 2025, lets U.S. users generate meal plans and build grocery carts at Kroger, Safeway, and Wegmans without leaving ChatGPT.
  • SeatGeek and Wix each launched native ChatGPT apps in March 2026, adding event ticketing and website building to the platform.
  • Connecting any app grants ChatGPT access to account data—including listening history, saved content, and preferences—requiring users to review permissions before linking.

What Happened

On April 6, 2026, TechCrunch published a detailed guide covering how users can activate and use more than 14 app integrations now available inside ChatGPT, including Spotify, DoorDash, Uber, Canva, Figma, Expedia, Booking.com, Quizlet, SeatGeek, Target, Angi, Coursera, Wix, and Uber Eats. The integrations are accessible via Settings > Apps and Connectors, where users can browse available services and link individual accounts, or initiate a connection by typing an app name directly in the ChatGPT prompt field.

Several integrations launched in late 2025 and early 2026. DoorDash debuted its ChatGPT connector in December 2025; SeatGeek and Wix both launched in March 2026. Target launched a beta version before Black Friday in November 2025.

Why It Matters

OpenAI is extending ChatGPT’s role from a conversational assistant to a task-execution layer where users can place food orders, book rides, create playlists, and design graphics without switching between applications. Competing platforms have pursued similar strategies: Google’s Gemini supports extensions for Gmail, Maps, and YouTube, while Apple Intelligence integrates with first-party iOS 18 apps.

For third-party companies, a native ChatGPT presence offers distribution within one of the most widely used AI interfaces, particularly as consumer interaction patterns around AI assistants continue to consolidate around a small number of platforms.

Technical Details

Each integration operates through account linking that grants ChatGPT read and, in some cases, write access to user data within the connected service. Spotify’s integration allows ChatGPT to view a user’s playlists, listening history, and library, and to add or remove items on the user’s behalf—capabilities that TechCrunch’s guide specifically flags as data-sharing considerations requiring user review before connecting.

DoorDash’s integration is restricted to U.S. users and works with participating grocery retailers including Kroger, Safeway, Fairway Market, and Wegmans. Users can ask ChatGPT to generate a meal plan, automatically populate a DoorDash grocery cart with required ingredients, then review and check out within the DoorDash app; payment cannot be completed inside ChatGPT.

Uber’s integration is also U.S.-only and limited to on-demand rides with no advance booking capability. Supported ride tiers include UberX, UberXL, Comfort, and Black. For design tools, Canva’s integration accepts prompts specifying aspect ratios, color schemes, and formats—but TechCrunch notes that “AI-generated designs are seldom perfect, with occasional distorted images or spelling mistakes.”

Who’s Affected

U.S.-based ChatGPT users are the exclusive beneficiaries of the DoorDash, Uber, and Uber Eats integrations, which are not available in other markets as of publication. The Spotify, Canva, Figma, Booking.com, Expedia, SeatGeek, Quizlet, and Angi integrations carry no stated geographic restriction in TechCrunch’s reporting.

Design and product teams using Figma can route diagram and flowchart generation through ChatGPT, and can upload documents to generate team roadmaps with milestones and deadlines. Students using Quizlet’s native ChatGPT app can convert AI conversations, notes, or uploaded documents directly into flashcard sets and access Quizlet’s library of study sets from within the chat interface.

What’s Next

Angi, the home-services marketplace, is among the most recently launched integrations, enabling users to ask home improvement questions and request contractor quotes from within ChatGPT before being directed to Angi’s platform to continue the booking process. OpenAI has not publicly announced a timeline for expanding geographically restricted integrations—DoorDash, Uber, and Uber Eats—beyond the U.S.

Users can disconnect any linked app at any time via the Settings menu. TechCrunch’s guide does not address what happens to data already shared with ChatGPT upon disconnection, a detail OpenAI has not publicly clarified.
